Back between the tape

It has been almost a year since our community of riders across Australia have been able to get back between the tape for some racing. Racing is more than just chasing a trophy for our Intense for Life family. It’s an outlet for mental health, fitness, and sharing life long memories with like minded riders. Our first stop in a two week tour was back to Thredbo for the Cannonball festival. Cannonball festival sees some of the fastest riders in the country doing battle across multiple different racing disciplines as well the “whip off” to conclude the event. Having the Cannonball festival back on the calendar gave all of our riders a since of normality where we all were sharing the love of riding and trail tales. 

What was extra special about the Cannonball week was we were able to have such a divers group of Intense for Life riders in one place. We had the pleasure of having two of Australia's fastest women racers Cassie Voysey, Danni Beecroft, Kovarik race team racers, Masters weapon David Sharp, The Mtb Mama’s group and lifestyle ripper Harrison Tailby all made the trip to Thredbo where we celebrated a great week of results and most of all fun times that we will remember for ever.

From Thredbo our team split with Sleeter heading North back to the Gold Coast and Josh Geering went on to National Champs in Maydena. Josh made the extra week worth while for our National Championship riders providing a home base, technical support, and a best of all plenty of high fives to go around. The conditions were much different than last year with some dust in the air and loose conditions on the DH track. The track proved to be challenging for even the best in the world with many top riders getting hurt. Cassie Voysey came into the weekend battered up from a big crash at Cannonball and a small mistake left the title hopeful with a 7th overall. Kovarik racing’s Akira Yamada and longtime Intense Masters Pinner Rory Whitelaw made the trip from the Gold Coast to Maydena where they put in some great runs to represent us. 

Although we only came away with 1 National title from a very fast 15 and under women’s racer Matilda Henness we couldn’t be more stoked on the rides efforts and dedication to make the trip to the Maydena bike park for the 2022 Australian National championship. For all of you that came by the tent over the past weeks to say hi thanks for the love and for those who are waiting on stock stay tuned containers are coming in hot.
